“You can yell at the waves, hoping that they will be silent and listen to you, but they won’t. You must be willing to dive into them, to swim hard and as far as you can. Life will not stop to listen, it is there for you to engage in. So it goes with Christ, He wants you to dive into the heart of who He is. To swim in the currents of His abounding grace! Don’t sit on the shore pleading with Him to stop, face Him with adventure and courage, knowing that He is in control and that He is never gonna stop being who He is.”

this might be a weird question, but im thinking about doing YWAM. i was wondering while on the trip if you get a change to site-see. i know were there for a purpose - but how could you not want to roam around a different country? thank you! ps - what was your experience like?

Hi anon! First of all, YES do it a DTS. It was the best thing I could have ever done & I wish everyone could/would do it.

& YES, you would get a chance to site see. Every base is different, but as far as I understand, most weekends are free. During my DTS we had most weekends free & most of the team did travel. Also, between lecture & outreach, you get the most enriching travel experience ever, because you get to LIVE in a new place, not just visit.

My experience was incredible. It was life changing, to say the least. God is so good, & I was not living a very Christ like life in the eight months before I left for my DTS so I am still in awe that I got there. I blogged about it here if you want more nitty gritty!

If you want to ask more specifics or get some recommendations for bases in Europe/the UK (if that’s your interest) PLEASE, by all means ask!

Praying for you, stranger. :)

"If we’re destroying our trees and destroying our environment and hurting animals and hurting one another and all that stuff—there’s got to be a very powerful energy to fight that. I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that.”— Ellen DeGeneres
